Seven Stories and Enid Blyton!

I’m very excited about being Seven Stories’ Writer in Residence for the Enid Blyton Collection. I will be working with children and teachers at the primary school in Byker and the lovely staff and volunteers at the archive and visitor centre in the Ouseburn Valley. This is bound to be thirsty work. I wonder if I get a ginger beer allowance?

Karma Cookies

I’m doing some research for OSB sequel, Karma Cookies. This involves meeting some very interesting people in some very lovely places. Huge thanks to the Beekeeper, Ian Wallace, and Fenwicks in Newcastle for inviting me onto the roof to visit their bees.

The right note(paper)

So, Om Shanti, Babe is out and about and being read and getting some nice reviews and everything. It is definately time I stopped faffing and did some work on Karma Cookies. A friend has given me a notepad from her husband’s work stash. It has a drawing of a skeleton on one side. My handwriting has gone very neat all of a sudden. I wonder what else will be affected. ..

Archives

An interesting morning at Seven Stories sorting out OSB material for the Diverse Voices archive. Very sensibly, they turned down the lumps of beeswax and very graciously they only grimaced a little at my terrible handwriting. Thank you Hannah!
